Made in South Africa, vodka brand Russian Bear celebrated the success of their innovative campaign Shay’itafula by crowning the Dubazani team from Pietermaritzburg the table soccer Champions!
After an exciting tour across Kwa-Zulu Natal and Gauteng for the groundbreaking table soccer tournament which Russian Bear introduced earlier this year, the Shay’itafula competition culminated in an explosive final that saw music, friends and interactive sporting come together on 29 June 2024.
Staying ahead of trends yet again, Russian Bear introduced Shay’itafula in April and has seen over 50 teams hit the table in a series of action packed showdowns between friends. First launching at Chris’s Tavern in Mega City, uMlazi; then taking it all the way to Sammy’s Shebeen in Chiawelo, Soweto; before heading back to Kwa-Zulu Natal for the finals at Mojo’s Carwash and Shishayama in Durban – Shay’itafula elevated the table soccer experience in true Russian Bear #OnAnotherLevel style.
Taking on seven of the best from around the country, Dubazani from Pietermaritzburg beat out Myeza Brothers, Dela Ngokubona, Black Nation, Zinto, Ghadlanga, Foza and Kazana to walk away with a staggering R100 000 at the Russian Bear Shay’itafula final. Fans witnessed hip hop favourite Big Zulu live on stage after an electrifying Shay’itafula celebrity match against fellow popular musician Loki; and Gagasi FM DJ, Heazy.

We started out in Kwa-Zulu Natal, then took the tournament to Gauteng before coming back to Durban for an epic showdown. Showcasing OnAnotherLevel skills, we have seen the best of table soccer and are thrilled to crown Dubazani as our Shay’itafula champions.
