Celebrated South African television personality Nomalanga Shozi has been nominated for a South African Film and Television Award (SAFTA) in the category of Best TV Presenter for her work on the popular SABC1 show ‘The Sauce’. This nomination is part of the public vote category, recognising Nomalanga’s vibrant presence and exceptional talent on screen.
The National Film and Video Foundation announced the nominees for the 18th Annual SAFTAs on 5 September 2024. With 347 entries showcasing the creativity and diversity of South Africa’s film and television industry, this year’s awards plan to be a spectacular celebration of local talent.
“I’m honoured to be nominated for a SAFTA for my work on The Sauce,” said Shozi. “This nomination is a testament to the incredible team behind the show and our fantastic audience. It’s truly rewarding to be recognised in this way.”
The SAFTAs offer the public the opportunity to participate in the voting process for the Best TV Presenter category. Supporters of Shozi can vote for her via the voting code *120*32020# – voting is open until 21 October 2024.
The SAFTAs will unfold over two nights: the Craft Awards will be streamed live on 25 October on the SAFTAs YouTube channel, while the main awards ceremony will be broadcast on 26 October on Mzansi Magic (Channel 161) and S3. Both events will celebrate the outstanding contributions of those in the South African film and television sector.
