Johannesburg – The search for Miss Eco-Tourism World Africa is now open and women aged 17 to 26 years old can stand a chance to be crowned as the very first Miss Eco-Tourism World Africa 2020.
The lucky lady who will walk away with the coveted title will receive an exclusive design crown, luxury sash, a professional photographic session as the queen of 2020, return flight to Durban for the International Pageant and prizes from sponsors of the event. The Winner of Miss Eco-Tourism will go on to compete at a much bigger stage in hopes of being crowned as Miss Eco-Tourism World 2020 which will be held in Durban during the month of September.
Over the years many young women entered beauty pageants in hopes to take home the title of being the reigning queen of the land and as the records have shown, the faces of such beauty pageants have changed from being just a looks-based contest to being dubbed as a pageant for beauties with brain. 2019 proved true to this statement with Zozibini Thunzi winning the coveted title as Miss Universe putting South Africa right up on the world map. Zozi, who isn’t your typical long weaved fair skinned girl defied all odds with her short natural German cut hairstyle proving to the world that she too doesn’t need to conform to societal standards to be crowned as the most beautiful woman in the world.
Unlike most beauty pageants, Miss Eco-Tourism has no height requirements and is open to any young girls between the ages of 17 and 26 years. Applicants though must have any of the African Nationality of the country representing. This is a great platform for Africans to showcase the beauty in their countries and thereby promote tourism and cohesion in Africa.
Miss Eco-Tourism is hosted by Yondela Sihlobo-Mlambo, who is a model and business mogul – Miss Eco-Tourism World is close to her heart as she too was once a pageant girl who entered and won titles both locally and continental.
Her recent visit to the Kingdom of Eswatini cemented the importance of tourism and how it promotes social cohesion among Africans.
