The world acclaimed Gospel Ensemble – MTN Joyous Celebration – has announced its return with a series of virtual shows starting from 25th October.
Following a period of uncertainty across the globe attributed to the Pandemic that brought the world to its knees and most countries were placed under strict lockdown, the Gospel Music Powerhouse is ready to stage its first virtual, world-class show, presenting the “Praise” segment of their latest offering, MTN Joyous Celebration 24.
Gospel music revelers and MTN Joyous Celebration supporters and followers will be treated to an evening packed with the beautiful sounds they have come to love from the comfort of their homes, when the group showcases select music and songs in a 90-minute high energy show from their 2020 album, titled, The Rock.
According to Lindelani Mkhize – Founding Member – “We are excited to return to the stage, and more importantly to announce to our fans that we are back! The Covid-19 pandemic delayed us in offering our Rock, (the fans), the normal spectacular and extravaganza we stage annually at their doorsteps with a nationwide tour. The benefit of streaming the concert live is that we can connect with the broader Joyous family across the globe at the same time. Whether you’re in Johannesburg, London, Lagos, Nairobi or the US, we hope our fans will buy tickets to the show. We have dusted our costumes, and our talented cast is ready to dazzle the audiences from far and wide. We have taken time to prepare and we assure viewers of an electric experience when Joyous comes to their living rooms, offices, bedrooms, churches or any other place of their choice on Sunday 25 October.”
MTN Joyous Celebration has cemented its position as trailblazers in the industry, and if the previous shows are anything to go by, it can be expected that the stage will be on fire.
Pastor Jabu Hlongwane – co-founder- has this to say about the upcoming show; “Covid-19 literally brought the world to its knees in 2020, resulting in widespread suffering in the past 9 months. We have seen our neighbours and loved ones perish, people lose their livelihoods, and it was tough for us not to be physically able to be a shoulder to lean on and an outlet for comfort and reassurance. We trust that the Joyous repertoire and collection of albums from previous years, was a welcome substitute and we are grateful today, that we can come to our fans and say we are back! We have returned, even more determined to soothe and heal those who still need their spirits lifted. The gathering may be different, as the current status quo still restricts us, but the experience is a guaranteed phenomenon. We are starting to make up for lost time and strongly believe that sooner rather than later we will also have the opportunity to be physically together.”
The 90-Minute Extravaganza will be streamed live at 19H00 sharp on Sunday, 25 October. To be part of this experience, buy your ticket at Computicket or Shoprite / Checkers stores nationwide at R120 per ticket, giving you access to the live stream show as it happens. A value add for SA MTN customers is that their show tickets will be inclusive of data to stream the show, merely for being an MTN customer. Ticket-holders will also have the benefit of viewing and accessing the show post the live stream for a further 48-hour period.
“As MTN, proud sponsor of MTN Joyous Celebration, we are pleased that the choir will be re-connecting with the customers and fans who have been yearning for their concerts. Our core belief is that everyone deserves access to a modern connected life and the free data we are giving will allow customers who are avid fans to stream the show or come back to watch it before the 48-hour period lapses,” says Nomsa Mazibuko, General Manager, Brand and Communications at MTN SA, citing that this is also MTN’s way of helping its customers to remake their 2020, bringing them closer to their passions even during this time.
