South African-born Cara Frew today releases a remix of her single “Waiting For Love” that offers a tantalising glimpse into her next body of work, an EP due out mid-2021.
The remix is a collaboration with fellow SONY artist BeatsByHand and the result is a mix of gritty pop vocals with a perfect infusion of down-tempo melody and the hard hitting, groovy bass-line beats that BeatsByHand is known for. For Cara Frew fans down south, it provides a taste of the summer to come – and up north the track delivers a warm, transporting slice of sound to get through the winter months.
The release of the “Waiting For Love” remix carries a special significance: along with the rest of the world, Cara has been “Waiting for Love” and longing for connection during a year unlike any other. “This remix represents how, even though we may be separated from the ones we love, music has the incredible ability to bring us all back together again,” says Cara. As an artist, music has been important to Cara during the restrictions. “Constant growth and evolution is an integral part of my life and I used the time to focus my emotions into writing and recording. I cannot wait to share this new music next year when my EP is released.”
While working on her new music in Berlin, Cara celebrated her birthday. Exclusive footage of her celebrations ended up as the thread that tied her music video together and became a shout out to those who bring love into her life.
