Major League Baseball 2021 To Broadcast Live On ESPN Across Africa

Delivering on its commitment to bring the best sporting content to fans across the continent, ESPN is set to broadcast another season of Major League Baseball (MLB) across Africa, live on ESPN and ESPN2. The MLB’s first pitch of the 2021 season is set to be thrown on Thursday 1 April 2021. The opening match will broadcast live at 19:00 (CAT) on ESPN2 as The New York Yankees take on The Toronto Blue Jays.

Major League Baseball is an American professional baseball organization and the oldest of the major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada. A total of 30 teams play in MLB: 15 teams in the National League and 15 in the American League

For the fourth season in a row, all 30 teams are scheduled to play on opening day, giving fans the ultimate in baseball action. Key highlights of the 2021 MLB schedule are expected to include reigning champions Los Angeles Dodgers launching their defence campaign with a three-game series against the Washington Nationals from 9 – 11 April with a rematch of their five-game National League Division Series in 2019.

The 91st All-Star MLB Game is set to take place on Tuesday, 13 July at Truist Park in Atlanta, the ballpark’s first Midsummer Classic and the first to be played in Atlanta since 2000 at Turner Field. The action on the pitch will culminate with 12 divisional games being played on the league’s final day of the regular season on Sunday, 3 October.
