LOOKBOOK Studio, publishers of House and Leisure, are excited to announce the launch of the latest issue, themed ‘Bloom’.
‘Bloom’ is a celebration of spring and all the optimism and joy a new season brings. It’s a visual feast of bold prints and pattern, kaleidoscopic colour, floral still lives and lush greenery. But most notably, it honours self-expression and encourages embracing one’s personal style. The House and Leisure team have taken the essence of the word ‘Bloom’ and interpreted it both literally and figuratively throughout the bold and bright issue.
In collaboration with Plain Tiger, an online shopping destination that consciously curates lifestyle brands, the spring issue also promotes the launch of the shoppable Bloom Collection – a delightful array of decor and design items hand-picked by House and Leisure’s editors, and ready for readers to shop. In addition to this, there’s another opportunity to shop-the-issue on page 46, where the aspirational Happy Hour styled shoot – shot on location at The Castle of Good Hope – will have readers dreaming of summer days and lunch al fresco, celebrating the spirit of la dolce vita.

In the issue’s LIVE chapter they feature the beautiful homes of people who truly live and embrace their personal style. Each with a moniker that denotes their talent – ‘The Editor’, ‘The Gardener’, ‘The Collector’, ‘The Artist’ – we get a glimpse into the spaces of Sumien Brink, Ina Paarman, Michael Chandler and Nicholas Hlobo, among many other creatives. Interviewed by friends, industry peers and colleagues, each narrative is as much about the spaces as the people who live in them – their self-expression, identity, personal style and more.
“Each of these individuals have a unique story, style and point of view, and you can see it reflected in their homes. Their spaces serve as a brilliant reminder that we’re here to celebrate and enjoy style in all its incarnations,” says Editor-in-Chief, Charl Edwards.
‘Bloom’ also honours South Africa’s heritage through food, recognises the amazing things women are doing in various industries, showcases books to covet and uncovers captivating gardens from around the world. The luxurious 240-page spring issue is a delightful tome to treasure.
Those more digitally inclined will be happy to know that the team have also just launched the free House and Leisure app for smartphones and tablets, now available on both Apple and Android.
