On Saturday the 29th of October, a historic and momentous event took place at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, where the King of the Zulu nation Misuzulu Sinqobile ka Zwelithini was handed over a certificate of recognition by his excellency President Cyril Ramaphosa.
“Liphumile ilanga kwaZulu” the theme of the event meaning the sun has risen on the Zulu nation matched the excitement and became the moment of pride to the Zulu nation. Thembekile Zulu, one of the Zulu people who attended the event said “This event is so important to us as the Zulu nation, moments like this are very rare and come once in every few generation. We are all proud and happy”.
People came in numbers to praise the King and witness this beautiful moment, not just the Zulu people but people from other cultures too.
Distinguished guests such as former South African President Thabo Mbeki, former President Jacob Zuma, Patrice Motsepe and his Majesty King Mswati ||| were present to witness this historic event. Other international guests such as guests from the Royal Welsh Regime were also present.
A very heart felt moment was witnessed when Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi broke into tears after being gifted with Isikhumba seBhubesi (Lion skin) to show gratitude to him for his exceptional role in the Zulu Nation. President Cyril Ramaphosa, King Mswati ||| and Business man Patrice Motsepe also received specific gifts with King Mswati receiving a total of 7 cows from the Royal Family.
The event was not only successful but also marked as one of the most beautiful event in the history of the Zulu Nation.
