Thousands of Nazareth Baptist Church members were gathered on Saturday at eNyokeni Royal Palace, kwaNongoma.
Following the honorary day in South African history, King Misuzulu kaZwelithini’s coronation on the 29th of October, the Nazareth Baptist Church Leader from the Ebuhleni faction, Prof M.D Shembe better known as Unyazilwezulu announced the prayer meeting that took place at eNyokeni. This is the first prayer ceremony hosted by the current Amazulu King.
His Majesty King Misuzulu kaZwelithini invited the Church for the ninth Royal prayer and umgidi ceremony. This is a royal tradition that was established by Late King Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu. The Zulu King marked this tradition in order for the Nazareth Baptist Church to join in pray in preparation of the Royal ceremony, Umkhosi woSelwa, every year.
Congregants held their Sabbath sermon at the Palace in the morning and afternoon. The Current reigning King arrived at eNyokeni in the Afternoon and Ebuhleni Leader addressed congregants in his Majesty’s presence.
Ebuhleni Leader expressed gratitude to the Late Amazulu King Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu.
“We are honored that the late King Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu chose us, Amanazaretha asebuhleni to join him in prayer before the uMkhosi weSelwa”, Shembe says.
Shembe spoke on the major concerning social issue in South Africa, Gender based Violence. He pleaded with men to stop taking advantage of the vulnerability of women and should instead protect women and children.
“When a man beats his wife in front of his children, what will they become?” Shembe adds.
Due to the brutal murder of Royal senior member Prince Mbongiseni Zulu, The King did not give a speech. The ceremony continues for umgidi wamanazaretha at eNyokeni Royal Palace.
