It’s officially December, ‘Ki’Dzember Boss’! The festive season has begun and together with the rest of the country, we have officially labelled it as a ‘Lifestyle’.
The annual family vacations to the countryside and braais with the ‘chommas’ have been planned to the ‘T’ with no room left for error as this is an important month for the Azumah Clan. With a strict budget at hand, can you imagine my luck when I managed to bag cool items on OLX to complete my festive season shopping. The Benefits of online shopping!
Being the ‘hostess with the mostess’ is a duty I take very seriously, from the purchasing of necessities to the preparation of food, which is highly important due to Grandma Lillian’s restricted diet. Lets just say Granny has learnt her lesson and we shall not be seeing her at the buffet table this year!
As soon as I logged on to OLX, the first item that popped up during my Garden/Braai search was the Braai Trolley Farmhouse series which I purchased from a lovely gentleman by the name of Johann who resides in Umhlanga Rocks.
After some negotiating and friendly banter like United Nations delegates, we managed to settle on a good deal which left both parties extremely happy and I was left with a saving of R1000. Now my grandparents will be served like the royalty they are for all our family occasions!
My second purchase for the ‘chommas’ is my new Castle Light Mini Bar Fridge. Fully Functional and Portable, Mrs Bailey (seller) was very friendly and seemed relieved to get it off her hands due to her entire family moving abroad this December.
She even had the courtesy to deliver the fridge to my apartment and threw in a couple of ice trays- all free of charge. Now my friends and family can enjoy an ice cold beverage on a warm summer’s night this season!
As a bonafide smart shopper and with all the savings I’ve made, purchasing one last item made sense since I had a little cash to burn in my pockets.
My final and favourite purchase on OLX has to be my new Patio Bench Set. It instantly caught my eye and I already had a clear image of it within our backyard together with friends and family, wining and dining together.
Handcrafted by an eccentric couple from Glenwood, negotiating a deal (which I do best) wasn’t much work and the price fit perfectly within my budget since the plan is to save as much as possible. Lets not forget December has a lot in store, so save, save and save!
The variety of items on OLX are amazing and the price range works perfectly for those willing to splurge to smart shopper savers such as myself.
