When adidas and BAPE® came together in 2003 to launch the ‘Super Ape Star’ sneaker, they changed the game. Over two decades later and the trailblazing partnership continues to shape streetwear culture the world over, built on mutual respect between adidas and BAPE® as pioneers in sports and street style, redefining fashion and setting new standards for collaborations. Now, the brand with the Three Stripes and the legendary Japanese label have reunited to present a head-to-toe collection which honors the legacy of the iconic Superstar while bringing it firmly into the future – available in both adult and children’s sizing.
Headlining the collection is the SSTR V BAPE® silhouette. Taking a vintage Superstar upper as its base, the timeless look is updated in the label’s signature style, with ABC SOLID CAMO embossing, alternating BAPE STA™ and Three Stripes details, a gold foil Ape Head on the quarter, and metallic gold shoe jewelry. Finished in two distinct colourways – white with black accents and blue with white accents.
Moving to apparel, the collection features two bold ABC SOLID CAMO takes on the iconic Firebird Tracksuit in two colourways – black and red and blue and white – with co-branded logos on the front and a co-branded back graphic. A special edition Trefoil shark hoodie and co-branded white tee complete the garment selection.
Rounding out the collaborative pack is a SOLID CAMO side bag.
The BAPE® SSTR pack will be available on 5th April at adidas.co.za, Sandton Halo, V&A Waterfront and Gateway stores.
