Taking place on 2 May at Gold Reef City, The Lyric Theatre, this year’s theme, It’s a Family Affair, celebrates comedy for what it truly is: a beautifully chaotic, wonderfully dysfunctional family where everyone has a role to play and no one holds back on the punchlines.
At the centre of it all are your hosts, the Goliath ‘family’ Jason Goliath, Donovan Goliath, Nicholas Goliath and Kate Goliath, the ultimate comedic ‘siblings’ who know exactly how to turn family dynamics into comedy gold. Expect playful roasting, inside jokes that somehow feel universal, and the kind of banter that could only come from people who’ve been arguing over the same dinner table for years.

Of course, every great family gathering needs someone stirring the pot. This year’s script is in the hands of comedy masterminds Mojak Lehoko and Camilo “Milo” Saloojee, who are bringing their signature wit to the stage, ensuring the night is packed with sharp observations, cultural nuance, and laugh-out-loud moments.
Guiding it all is performance director Jefferson Tshabalala, orchestrating the madness into a seamless, high-energy production that captures the magic of live comedy.
With 12 award categories to be revealed on the night, the stakes are higher than ever. Who will take home the coveted Waldo trophy? Expect celebrations, surprises, and maybe even a few “family debates” along the way.
