Ballito Rage Announces Their International And Local Artists

G&G Productions, organisers of Ballito Rage Festival which is set to take place from 30 November until 05 December 2021, have announced the final line-up of artists that are set to rock the famous Ballito Rage Megadome once again.

These artists are Italian producer and DJ, Cioz, producer and DJ, Hyenah, Amsterdam based DJ, Miss Melera, American producer, and DJ, Öona Dahl and German producer and DJ, Britta Arnold! South African heavyweights include, Nasty C, Shimza, Lemon and Herb, Kyle Cassim, Ryan Murgatroyd, Kasango and Chrizz Beatz amongst many more.

The easing of restrictions has given the organisers a platform to create something truly magical. An experiential wonderland in Ballito including two music entertainment areas, the famous Ballito Rage Megadome and multiple outdoor areas. The outdoor spaces will allow guests to relax, unwind and say goodbye to the last 12 years of school and the mental stresses of two years of a locked-up society.

“Since I was in grade 8, I’ve been waiting for my turn to go on Rage and now it’s finally come!! I’m unbelievably excited to spend 5 days at the Sound Factory and by the beach with my mates!”, says matriculant, Sandile Dube.

Rage Events

The Ballito Rage events will be held at The Sound Factory in the rolling hills of Ballito surrounded by surreal views and a breathtaking atmosphere! Normally, guests would also enjoy a varied experience by attending numerous club parties, with the current COVID-19 restrictions, this is not possible. Instead, the organisers are bringing the variety to the Sound Factory.

Each day brings a brand-new theme. Decor and equipment will be loaded out and replaced and there will be a festive get ready tent offering guests professional face painting and makeup artists and festival wearables to match the theme. Here are the themed experiences:

30 November – IGNITION:

  • Welcome to Rage Festival 2021, welcome to The Sound Factory. IGNITION, the beginning. The start of our epic journey, together. Bring an open mind, enter our world, and make memories that you will remember forever!

1 December – GARDEN OF EDEN:

  • Journey into our tropical jungle. A labyrinth of hanging green, mystical creatures and woody corners. Come and reconnect with your spiritual being as we pay homage and bid farewell to 12 years of structured conformity.

2 December – NEON DREAM:

  • Dress code: Dripping in luminous neon from head to toe! Don’t be dull! A bright, enchanted, magical land and a visual feast for the eyes and mind. Shine as bright as possible and join our kaleidoscope of neon magic as we illuminate the KZN sky.

3 December – TECHYES:

  • Deep thunderous techno and tech house will bring your senses to life. A shadowy world of focused beams, piercing lasers and explosive C02. Say yes, to TECHYES!

4 December – WHITEOUT:

  • Dress code: Strictly all white attire. Only shoes, caps or belts may have colour. It’s the final chapter in our passage of freedom and it will be a magnificent affair! Together, gathered in white, we will unite and celebrate one last time.

Rage Passports

In keeping with current regulations around gatherings, the festival is strictly limited to 2,000 people, Passports are moving quickly, so best to secure yours today. Rage Black Passports are 93% sold out Rage Platinum Passports 72% sold out and 3-Day Passports 62% sold out.

A new 3-DAY Passport allows Ragers to enter The Sound Factory on 2 Dec, 3 Dec and 4 Dec 2021 to experience 3 epic days of Rage magic. The Passport can be purchased for R1,400 (including Rapid Antigen testing) and is available on https://ballito.ragefestival.com/.

Vaccinations

Ballito Rage 2021 and sister event, Plett Rage 2021 have both taken a firm no vax – no entry policy for 2021. The festivals intend to function as vehicles for positive mindset change, encouraging SA’s youth to be proud members of their community and get vaccinated against COVID-19 so that together we can rise from the horrors of the last 2 years.

Local Support

The Ballito Rage Festival organisers have received their official letter of support from the KwaDukuza Municipality. The letter quotes “The KwaDukuza Municipality supports the proposal to host Ballito Rage Festival from 30 November until 5 December 2021.”

The festival obviously must comply with all conditions of the SASRIA eventing act as well as whatever restrictions pertain to gatherings under the Disaster Management act at the time of hosting the event. The support is a fabulous step forward for the industry. The festival organisers are collaborating very closely with all departments including an extensive task team from the KZN Department of Health to bring the beloved festival, smartly and safely to light.

“It is so fantastic to have such overwhelming support from the local authorities in KZN. Forward thinking teams from both the KwaDukuza Tourism and Events Office as well as the KZN Department of Health are walking with us every step of the way, no stone is being left unturned.” Says Greg Walsh, CEO of the Rage Festival Group.

The festival has also received support from and continues to work with Fire, Police, Disaster Management, Environmental Health, Waste Management and all the other relevant stakeholders. “It’s a team effort to do this right and restore our reputation,” continues Greg.

COVID-19 Protocols for guests and staff:

  • Strictly no vaccine, no entry.
  • 2 Rapid Antigen tests on site prior to entry for guests and staff, on the first day of arrival and the 3rd day of attendance.
