SIX DAYS TO THE CASTLE LITE UNLOCKS EXPERIENCE!

The official countdown to the most anticipated experience in local Hip-Hop has started in earnest. The 2019 Castle Lite Unlocks two-day experience, scheduled for the 17 – 18 of June 2019promises to be a cultural hotpot of everything Hip-Hop.

Now in its seventh year, Castle Lite Unlocks has evolved from previous years into a two-day, extra-cold and fully immersive Hip Hop cultural experience which comes to life through music, fashion, conversation and art.

Castle Lite Brand Director, Silke Bucker said: “As the brand has progressed, Hip-Hop in Africa has also grown to a space where international artists are looking to Africa for inspiration; a space where our artists are setting the trends and driving the global Hip-Hop sound and message. Castle Lite Unlocks is the biggest property we own as a brand – this is not just because of the artists we unlock every year, but also because of the innovation we bring to life within this space year after year.”

Day 1 of the experience, on Monday, 17 June, is dedicated to Hip-Hop as a cultural movement and will feature street culture, master classes, inspiring Cold Table Convos, and street fashion.

Holding down the fort on the music front will be SA’s top-rated Hip-Hop stars AKA, Shane Eagle, Cassper Nyovest, Boity, J Molley, Nadia Nakai and Moozlie. Plus, multi-platinum selling US rapper, Meek Mill will close off Day 1 with an extra cold performance.

Representing the fashion and art scene will be Nardstar, who is known for her graffiti art and Galxboy founder, Thatiso Dube who collaborated with Castle Lite to produce limited edition merchandise. Consumers can also look forward to exhibitions by Shesha, Nike x Sportscene, Diadora and more.

Consumers will also be treated to a rare experience when their favourite Hip-Hop stars participate in the lifestyle activities from gaming tournaments to the Lifestyle Expo and Basket Ball games.

In an effort to foster positive dialogues within the Hip-Hop movement, Castle Lite is proud to present the Cold Table Convos which will see inspiring voices of the Hip Hop culture – Ugandan radio and TV personality, Lee Kasumba, prominent Hip-Hop aficionado, Mark Mac, local Hip-Hop icon, Siyabonga ‘Slikour’ Metane, LootLove and DJ Speedsta among others.

Renowned Hip-Hop guru, Sway Calloway will also be part of Day 1, where he will host theSwayColdCyphers featuring A-Reece, Moozlie, Shane Eagle, Rouge, The Big Hash and Espiquet.

Day 2, on Tuesday, 18 June, will be all about the music as South Africa’s own trailblazers Nasty C, Rouge & Ricky Rick get to share the stage with Post Malone for a sub-zero experience.

Doors will open at 12:00 on Day 1 and 17:00 on Day 2.  No Under 18’s are allowed and consumers are requested to carry their Identification Documents for verification purposes.

 

As we head closer to the coldest night in SA Hip-Hop, Castle Lite is ready deliver an extraordinary celebration of Hip-Hop culture at the TicketPro Dome in Johannesburg.

In order to ensure a safe experience for all, patrons are advised against carrying any prohibited items. These include guns, illegal substances, sharp objects/weapons and selfie sticks. Possession of these items will result in patrons being denied entry into the event venue and/or the relevant authorities may get involved.

Tickets are selling fast but still available from Webtickets.co.za and at Pick n Pay stores. All Day 1 tickets and Golden Circle Day 2 tickets are completely sold out. In order to experience this unmissable celebration of all things Hip-Hop, consumers can still purchase their two-day combo tickets and general access tickets.
