Farlon Lights Up the Music Scene

Few kilometers away from the busy Randburg lies the serene Randpark Golf Course, there we had the opportunity to chat with gospel musician Farlon Lyte. The young ballad singer, who is also the current Southern Africa music coordinator in the expansive Believer’s Loveworld Ministry, recently released 2 singles and speaks to us about her music and career.

Where Did The Name Farlon Lyte Come From?

Farlon is my name which means Royalty – The daughter of a king” and Lyte is my second meaning a Leader. I got the name Lyte while speaking to a friend of mine. I am the Light of the world and I have seen that so evidently in the impact made thus far.

Give Us A Brief Background About Yourself.

I started singing at a very young age of 8 in Primary school; but I was very shy so I stopped singing for school choirs. I continued to sing on my own until I formed a group at 13 back in Zimbabwe called “Unlimited”. It was an acapella group and we used to sing at some events till I came to SA to further my studies and that’s how I started my solo endeavors. Before then I used to write songs but I never sang them. Coming to South Africa, I came in contact with the message and ministry of the man of God Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, and my life had a whole new meaning, everything became clearer and my purpose in music was clear too. As a leader in the ministry, I have had the opportunity to build and raise many others and in doing that building myself in God’s word. Besides music, I love kids and do a lot of work with the orphanages in the community, giving their lives a meaning while  still young. I am currently working on 2 Albums under The Lyte House brand which I lead, The Lyte House worship and The Lyte House Ballad albums. These are 2 different genres of music. Worship and Lobe songs to the Lord that bring an atmosphere of worship and love to all that listen. I love working with people and seeing them realize their dreams; not only that but making a lasting impact for the master’s use.

Why Gospel Music?

Why not Gospel music. Lol! Gospel music is the greatest music genre. I say so because this is the music that people listen to and get healed, people listen and their destinies are changed, people listen and their lives have a meaning once again, people listen and they want to do the right thing. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am a proud Gospel musician.

If You Were Not Singing & Making Music, What Else Would You Be Doing?

I love working with kids. Under the Lyte House, I have a special initiative called The Lyte House Kids Dream Factory, this is a soul-winning initiative from the kids to the family. We inspire and build kids in the communities; directing their dreams and passions in God’s will. I love cooking and interior designing also.

Who do You Look Forward to Working With in the Industry?
Growing up I used to look up forward to singing with Sinach and that has happened, I have been featured 0n 2 of her albums. I look forward to singing with more upcoming stars, I think they have something great to offer.

What Inspired Your New Singles?
I released 1 Ballad song titled “Like a Million stars“; this is a song that speaks of God’s unconditional and immeasurable love. Many people think that they have to be a certain level of perfect to be accepted by God, but the song let’s us know that God is the perfecter  of all men, He loved us even before he made us. His arms are always wide open to receive that soul that’s coming home to Christ, a life without Jesus is meaningless and this song speaks of love that draws us to His word. The second song is titled “He’s got it planned“, a powerful song that will change the course of many destinies; it is a prophetic song. The song says He’s got it planned and everything is working together for our good. The bible says in Jeremiah that God knew us before He formed us and it continues to say He knows every plan and every thought and they are thoughts to give us an expected end. God wants you more successful than you could ever dream. The guarantee for true success is in the word of God, when you get to know Him you get to discover your inheritance in Him. The song assures you that no matter what at the end it will all favour you.
When Should We Expect An Album From You?
