Honesty, people must be honest from day one
Open communication, people must talk about everything, family background, finances, talk about sex openly, number of kids they want to have, needs, expectations etc.
Also have their Scripture Foundation which they can refer to each time
Family values to avoid interference from friends, families both in-laws
Never forget what brought them together, LOVE
Remember Marriage is work, you both need to Work on it Daily For it to improve.
Never allow anyone to come between the 2 of you no matter who it is, both should put each other 1st.
