We got married because it was the right thing to do as Christians and above all he loves me and I love him too.
How did he propose?
Lol…the Christian way at church after he had paid the dowry and all. No engagement before lobola.
How has marriage changed you?
Marriage is a balance of giving and taking. I can’t always be taking, I have learnt to sacrifice.
What has marriage taught you?
Marriage has taught me that it is not about being the same, it’s about compatibility, simply because we don’t have the same characteristics does not mean we can’t intertwine and make it work.
Communication is the beauty behind it all.You both have to be mature enough to learn about one another, accept each other’s differences, and embrace them.
To be humble and put God first in our lives has improved our marriage in all aspect and to not give up easily but learn how to forgive.
What do you love most about being married?
The family we’ve created through God’s guidance and that he is beside me facing life together with me
What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in your marriage and how did you overcome them?
Communication, Busyness and
Disappointments and we overcame them by communicating, prayer and remembering the vows we exchanged when we got married and why we got married
What do you mostly fight about?
What movie to pick or what program to watch because im a fan of animation and cartoons, he likes soccer and action movies
What irritates you about each other?
Hmmm…so far nothing.
How do you keep love alive?
By bringing back the fun and prayer, honestly we are ourselves and just do it
What do you do for fun together?
We play games together, racing cars is our favorite, or watch comedy then laugh out loud
What do you think is the reason for people to not believe in the institution of marriage?
They might have witnessed tough marriages and they are afraid to commit, you have to be selfless, youre no longer independent, you will have to carry a burden that is not your own. Also, TV destroys the meaning of a happy marriage because it shows nonsensical and mind decaying things. You would see a woman always being ill treated by the inlaws and the husband and they hardly show the good side of marriage.
What advice do you have for people intending to get married?
Marriage is a gift from God, but it also requires a vast amount of commitment and sacrifice. There are a lot of benefits to marriage life.
Pray for the right spouse remember what ever you ask in the name of Jesus shall be granted unto you, make him your leader, it’s doable and it is nice to be married, especially if you make God the head of your marriage.
